ROCIO DELGADO

Visual artist

Rocío Delgado San Miguel is a Puerto Rican visual artist from Ciales whose vibrantoil paintings blend bold color, movement, and emotion. With roots in architecture and fashion design, her work balances structure with softness, drawing heavily from Puerto Rico’s culture, landscapes, and traditions.

After moving to California in 2006, painting became her way of staying connected to home—evolving into a career centered on identity, memory, and the Puerto Rican diaspora. Her signature “abstract glam” style combines fluid, watercolor-like oil techniques with metallic accents such as gold leaf, creating pieces that feel luminous, contemporary, and deeply expressive.

Her art has been shown internationally, including exhibitions in Miami, San Diego,Palm Springs, and Greece. She has held solo shows such as Dancing Waters (Crete, 2025) and Flow Natural at the Capitol of Puerto Rico (2025). Her work has also beenfeatured in the Fairmont El San Juan Hotel through its Cultural Canvas Series. Delgado has received multiple honors, including the Distinguished Artist Award (2022) from the National Puerto Rican Women’s Congress and First Place at Ashton Gallery (2023). Her work has appeared in media outlets such as CBS, El Nuevo Día, and Metro SJ.
