ARMANDO LONDOÑO
Artist
Armando Londoño, born in Colombia, later traveled to Europe and studied at the University of Paris VIII, graduating with an M.F.A. in art. He then went to New York, where he studied graphic arts at the Art Students League and, starting in 1980, became a permanent member of the Bob Blackburn Printmaking Workshop. Since 2017, he has lived in Miami and spends several months each year as an artist-in-residence at Kunstraum La Giraffe and in the printmaking department of the BBK Cultural Center in Berlin, Germany.
He works as a multimedia artist, moving back and forth between two-dimensional graphics and three-dimensional sculpture to set in motion a series of images (meta-images) that challenge the perception of the object. His aim is to generate new concepts, ideas, and structures that evolve into something different.
